Construction starts on Goldwind Americas’ 160MW wind farm
RES has started construction of Goldwind Americas’ 160MW Rattlesnake wind farm in Texas.
The project, which is located in McCulloch County, will consist of 64 Goldwind 2.5MW permanent magnet direct-drive 109-metre turbines.
RES, which sold the project to Goldwind in 2016, is balance of plant contractor on the project.
Goldwind Americas secured financing for the project from Berkshire Hathaway Energy and Citi.
Goldwind Americas chief executive David Halligan said: “Goldwind Americas is proud to be working with RES to construct this milestone project, our first project in Texas and first tax equity financed project.”
